Is it an art, a science or mumbo jumbo? Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it! One thing is for sure it helps the over 7000 nerves in our feet to balance all the body’s systems.
I have been practicing Reflexology for 6 yrs and love it! The session can be a stimulating or relaxing depending on the areas we focus on. Reflexology is a nice option if you need to unwind but don’t want to get undressed, mess up your hair or get oil on you as a full body massage would entail.
A typical treatment with me is 45 min: You lie on a comfy massage table with a pillow beneath your head and feet. The first few minutes are used to assess your feet and I’ll ask you any heath/lifestyle questions I need to better treat you. The pressure is medium-deep and a light foot cream is used along with Peppermint essential oil. I guess I would say Reflexology is an ancient art passed down from East to west, from teacher to student.
You can request Reflexology as a stand alone treatment or add it to the end of any regular massage as a 30 min tx. RMT receipts are issued. 15 min leg lymphatic drainage may also be added to a 45 min Reflexology tx to make it a full hour.
So treat you feet this summer!!!! Your whole body will thank- you!

Benefits of Reflexology…
When we are stressed our body’s defences break down and we become more susceptible to illness and disease. Reflexology reduces stress by generating deep tranquil relaxation, helping the body balance itself and allowing healing energy to flow.
Blood needs to flow freely throughout the body carrying oxygen and nutrients to all the cells and removing the waste products of metabolism and other toxins. By reducing stress and tension, reflexology allows the cardiovascular vessels to conduct the flow of blood naturally and easily.
Stimulated Nerve Function
By stimulating more than 7,000 nerves in the feet, reflexology encourages the opening and clearing of neural pathways. It interrupts pain pathways, reducing pain.
Improved Immune System
Reflexology stimulates the lymphatic system thus reducing risk of infection. It cleanses the body of toxins and impurities and also stimulates the production of endorphins, leading to an improved immune system and sense of well-being.
Reflexology revitalises energy throughout the body by relaxing and opening up energy pathways.
